Oral Oncology

              

 

DEPARTMENT OF ORAL ONCOLOGY

Department of Oral Oncology, Kidwai Cancer Institute, Bengaluru caters to the need of Oral Cancer Patients from all across the country. The Department runs OPD as well as major and minor OT throughout the week. New cases, follow-up of old cases are done in OPD. In minor OT dressings, Biopsies, extractions and various minor surgical procedures are being performed where as all major cases are taken up in Major OT.

The department also provides learning opportunities to post graduate as well as Mch students posted in the department from various parts of the country. In addition, the department also runs fellowship program to teach new budding surgeons, various aspects of oral cancer.

Patient Care

1. Involved in examining, screening and treatment planning of Oral Cancer patients

2. Involved in preoperative evaluation of surgical cases.

3. Managing minor surgical procedures in Minor OT

4. Performing major surgical procedures in Major OT

5. Post operative care of patients in ward.

6. Department of Oral Oncology Kidwai Cancer Institute , Bangalore  caters to the needs of Oral Cancer Patients from across the country. 

Teaching programme :

1. In addition to attending to Oral Cancer patients, the department conducts Fellowship  course in Oral Oncology awarded by Hands on training to MCh Surgical Oncology post graduate.

2. Training post Graduate students in MDS Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
